We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dedicated worker, a flexible and caring person to join our friendly school community. Reporting to the Senior Caretaker, and line managers, the job involves locking up, ensuring the school buildings and surrounding site are maintained, kept safe, clean and tidy at all times. An ability to work independently is desired and will occasionally include dealing with contractors, deliveries, cleaning designated areas (along a dedicated cleaning team) and moving heavy packages. You will support the Senior Caretaker to maintain and further improve the school facilities. The job is working shift pattern and due to the nature of the role, flexibility, adaptability and capacity to work hard is required. Occasionally, the job requires earlier or latter finish to meet deadline or due to certain events taking place. Working at heights, water and fire safety testing and COSHH experience (training will be available for both of these duties). Other key skills, experience and knowledge of using associated power tools are highly desirable e.g. woodworking, plumbing, fencing, plastering as we like to keep as much work as possible in-house. The role also involved monitoring school entrance/exit, and parking at key times in order to safeguard children, parents/carers and staff on site, liaising with peers through a radio.
Some cleaning duties of class/meeting rooms and toilets will also be required in case of spillage or in designated areas.
