School Visits

Staff and Governors acknowledge how very important it is for you to make the right choice for your child starting School and, under normal circumstances, we would love to invite you to visit Joy Lane so that you can see for yourself all the wonderful learning opportunities we are so proud to offer. As a result of the current pandemic, all fourteen Schools in Herne Bay and Whitstable (Coastal Alliance Co-Operative Trust) have agreed the safest way for you to get to know our Schools is through virtual tours which will mitigate the potential transmission risks.

We hope that our prospectus and Virtual tours will be useful in in presenting an insight into our school environment during these ongoing challenging times.

If you would like further information following your virtual visit, please do get in touch by email or by telephone and a member of our team will happily answer any of your questions.

Joy Lane Primary School is governed by Kent County Council’s admission procedures. Full details of the admissions criteria and a copy of the Admissions form are available on the Kent County Council website.

Joy Lane Primary School Admission Arrangements for Entrance September 2021

Reception Children

An online application form, which is available on the Kent County Council website, needs to be completed for children who are due to start school in Reception. This is available from the beginning of November and closes during the middle of January.
Many of our children join Joy Lane Primary School from Oyster Bay Nursery. A place in the Nursery does not guarantee a place in the main School. Children meeting the Local Authority’s entry requirements will be offered a place.

Please contact the School office if you are enquiring for a place in our Nursery.
