Job Description: Catering Assistant
Grade: Kent Range 2
Term time + 5 days / 28 hours a week
Joy Lane Foundation Primary School is a “3 form” entry school based in Whitstable in Kent. We are part of EKLA, a Teaching School Alliance and cater for conferences and school events.
We are looking to appoint a Catering Assistant to join our highly successful and busy kitchen. We serve approximately 300 hot meals daily to children aged 2 to 11 years and also cater for staff.
To join our hard working team, you need to be, positive, enthusiastic with a “can do attitude” and be a great team player.
Qualifications: Food hygiene certificate is an advantage.
Experience: Some relevant experience working with food and / or in a busy kitchen environment. Training will be provided

Part-Time Cleaning Assistant
We require a Part-Time Cleaning Assistant to work within the Cleaning team and offer a comprehensive and professional cleaning service that support Joy Lane Schools to maintain their high standard of hygiene and cleanliness following the school working practises.
We are looking for someone reliable, able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team, reporting to the Cleaning Supervisor, you will have some experience in cleaning in schools or similar establishment.
The contracted hours are 15hrs/week Monday to Friday 15:30 till 18:30 and flexibility will be required from time to time dependant of business needs.
Deep cleaning hours are also being done during each holiday term.
You will be looking after a designated area in rotation as requested by your Supervisor.
Knowledge of/or your COSHH certificate will be a great advantage.
