Meals are prepared and cooked on site in our school kitchen by our own in-house Catering Company, ‘Oyster Bay Catering’ and we abide by the Healthy Schools contract.
All meals must be paid for in advance via our on-line payment system ParentMail.
Any meals that have been paid for but not taken will be credited to the following week.
Please make us aware if your child has any food allergies.
Parents/Carers receiving certain benefits may claim for free school meals for their children. Further information about free school meals may be obtained from the School Office. Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils are entitled to a Universal Free School Meal.
Facilities are provided for children whose parents/carers wish them to have a packed lunch. This food must be brought to school in a suitable container that is marked on the lid and side with owner’s name and placed on one of the trolleys or shelves provided. Fizzy drinks, chocolate bars or sweets should not be brought to school. No glass containers, drinks should be in a non-breakable plastic drinks bottle. Food that is not eaten during the mealtime should be packed away and taken home (with the exception of empty yoghurt pots which may be thrown away).
We also request that parents/carers support the school in its promotion of healthy eating by providing a balanced selection of food in the packed lunch. Children are taught about healthy eating from an early age. To reinforce this, children are not allowed to bring chocolate bars or sweets to school. Fruit and other healthy snacks may be eaten at break times. The children are encouraged to drink water regularly so that they do not become dehydrated. Children are provided with a named, plastic bottle of water in the classroom.
